How to set up a functional, organized nursery without overbuying.
The nursery needs three zones: sleep (crib area), changing (changing table/pad), and feeding/comfort (chair or glider). Everything else is optional. Design around these three activities.
Baskets for diapers and wipes, a hanging organizer for the closet, drawer dividers for tiny clothes, and a caddy you can carry room to room. Vertical storage saves floor space.
You don’t need matching furniture sets or designer décor. Focus on function, safety, and comfort. A clean, organized space is the most calming nursery for both parent and baby.
No loose blankets in the crib, secure furniture to walls, keep cords out of reach, and use outlet covers. Safety trumps aesthetics every time.
Aim for 4–6 weeks before your due date. This gives you a buffer and reduces last-minute stress.
